Award-winning appliance manufacturer Smeg has just released a series of new 3D CGI videos. These videos explore the main features and technologies offered within their single cavity ovens, a category in which Smeg has made huge investment into in recent years. The investments include increased breadth of range, energy efficiency and technological functionality. The CGI project was initially commissioned for use by retailers in recognition to their demands for further interactive content but since the content has proved extremely popular the brand are keen to roll out to other areas which may benefit.
The CGI videos highlight the benefits of Smeg’s 60cm built-in ovens though six hotspots, these hotspots cover the following topics: pyrolytic cleaning, safety, oven functions, cavity features, touch screen technology and product maintenance. Viewers can click on and hover over each hotspot to find out more information interactively and seamlessly.
The videos are designed to be aesthetic neutral so they span all Smeg single oven models, and different versions are available to include and exclude certain hotspots depending on the model’s specification (i.e. doesn’t have pyrolytic cleaning function or touch screen etc).
In addition to the interactive version Smeg has also produced a standard and high definition looping video which shows all of the hotspots playing one after an another, the standard definition is excellent for devices such as iPad’s and laptops used on the go while the high definition version is excellent for large television screens in showrooms.
These videos have been so well received that Smeg plan to expand the range of CGI videos available in the near future.
