Hoover Unveils New ‘Born Innovative’ Campaign

To mark a hugely successful 2016 and in recognition of its 100-year plus heritage, leading kitchen appliance manufacturer Hoover has launched ‘Born Innovative’ –  a new vision for the company as it looks to accelerate its position in the market.

Dating back to the early 1900s, Hoover was formed as a direct result of inventor Mr James Murray Spangler’s asthma condition, which led him to invent the first portable electric vacuum cleaner. Without money to fund his idea, Spangler’s friends, Mr and Mrs Hoover, bought his patent and started producing vacuum cleaners from their small shop in Ohio. From there, the company has gone from strength-to-strength developing its floorcare offering, as well as a broad range of small and major domestic appliances.

All with the intention of improving people’s lives, Hoover products use design and technology to push the boundaries and discover new solutions to the daily challenges faced by consumers running a home.

Steve Macdonald, marketing director Hoover Candy Group, commented: “Innovation is the very essence of Hoover – it’s in its DNA. It is the ability to challenge the status-quo, imagine the future and make it the present. This is particularly evident when looking at our unique award-winning smart home appliance proposition in the UK, democratising technology for the mass market means making smart products available at affordable prices. For this reason, ‘Born Innovative’ is the natural positioning to drive the brand forward and is a stance we’re very proud of.”
